Hey Moms- I wanted to remind you that what you say matters. And that the world is a better place because of the heart work you do.
This Christmas my 6 year old wrapped an empty box for me. When I opened it, he said “Yea it is empty Mom because you don’t need anything, but I wanted you to have something to open.”
My heart was so full because he heard me say this so many times, “No no, I don’t need anything for Christmas.” But he wanted to give me something because he associates giving with love.
There were three other boxes under the tree for me from my sweet boy.
One had a beautiful rock that he picked out at our creek and wrapped.
Another had 2 pennies that came from his piggy bank.
And the last one had a set of 12 napkins that he cut and sowed from left over material that he found in my craft closet.
All of these things were a sign that he was thinking of me. I could not be more excited about the future he has in store.
I held him and thanked him and he said, “Well, you didn’t need anything, but I know you really wanted some things.”
I share this story with you because if a 6 year old can take the time to share and wrap 4 boxes by himself, we can change the world. Only if we do the heart work now.
Cheers too many more wonderful holidays that don’t require anything more than love.
